Sometimes you come to Gerardushoeve for a few days’ break. Sometimes for a special day or a long evening over dinner. On this page, we’ve put together a list of the activities and events that take place here and are organised by us throughout the year.

Out and about with Gerardushoeve – Aachen in the Christmas spirit

From the Aachen Christmas market to our Limburg winter table.

Christmas market at Aachen’s historic town hall in winter A day out at the Aachen Christmas market, without having to worry about parking or who’s driving back. We’ll set off together from Hotel Gerardushoeve at 11.00. By around 11.30, you’ll be right in the heart of the historic city centre. With your Gerardus Card in hand, you can decide for yourself how to spend the day: strolling through the Christmas market, enjoying a leisurely lunch, doing some shopping or taking a walk through the old town. At 4.30 pm, we’ll pick you up again. Back in Heijenrath, there’ll be time for a drink, after which you’ll be invited to join us for a Limburg winter feast at Gerardus Gastrobar, prepared with produce and flavours we’re proud of.

  • Transport from Hotel Gerardushoeve to Aachen and back

  • Free time to explore Aachen at your own pace

Departure at 11.00 am from Hotel Gerardushoeve; return around 5.00 pm. Lunch and refreshments in Aachen, drinks after returning and other drinks are not included. Places are limited. Hotel guests will be given priority for bookings; any remaining places will then be made available to non-residents. This is a standalone activity and not part of a hotel package.

The Taste of December

A long December evening round the table at Gerardus’s.

Announcement: ‘The Taste of December’ at Gerardus Gastrobar on Sunday 6 December 2026 at 4.00 pm
It gets dark early outside, the candles are lit inside, and at Gerardus Gastrobar we’re setting the table for an evening where all you need to do is take your seat and enjoy. We’ll welcome you with a festive aperitif and a small amuse-bouche. This will be followed by a four-course dinner in which our kitchen showcases the flavours of December: warm, generous and perfect for this time of year.

The public event will take place on Sunday 6 December 2026 at 4.00 pm and must be booked separately via Zenchef. Accommodation is not included, but can be booked separately at Hotel Gerardushoeve, subject to availability. In addition, hotel guests will be given priority when making bookings for Saturday evening.

Would you like to stay for a while?

An overnight stay is not automatically included with individual activities and events. Of course, subject to availability, you can book a room at Hotel Gerardushoeve.
